My name is Eliza. I’m a wife and mother, living on the Connecticut countryside. When I’m not taking care of my boys, I’m spending my days working in the family butcher shop. Most of my spare time is spent experimenting in the kitchen, with my husband assuming the role of guinea pig. Occasionally, I convince my picky three year old to give some of it a try!

I am extremely blessed to have two fathers, both of whom are major parts of my life. My Dad, a fellow foodie, always tried to get me to try new foods when I was a little girl. His palate is an adventurous one. Although I didn’t quite appreciate it at the time, I can certainly appreciate his passion now. For several years, while residing in Florida, he owned and operated a butcher shop and market. Needless to say, he knows his meat well. My Papi, who came into my life when I was four years old, is a butcher. He taught me everything I know about meat. My first job was at his butcher shop, when I was only 11. Six years ago, I left my managerial position in the corporate world to join the family business full-time.

My passion is food. I love to cook it, eat it, taste it, smell it. This blog is about my passion for cooking, baking, with an emphasis on meat-based dishes. After all, I am the butcher’s daughter.
